What is it with Rappers these days? Violence, jail time, and lawsuits surely AREN’T perks of the the industry. Unfortunately one rapper has gotten caught in this vicious web, Remy Ma. Rema Ma, whose real name is Remy Smith was slapped with a $20 million dollar civil lawsuit.

The suit claims that Remy Ma “willfully, wantonly and maliciously” shot and critically wounded an acquaintance. But that’s not all, mith also faces criminal charges and up to 25 years in prison for shooting acquaintance Makeda Barnes-Joseph twice in the abdomen after leaving a New York nightclub in July.

So what’s this rapper’s defense? Well.. her lawyer claims that the lawsuit "appears to be a publicity stunt consistent with the way Ms. Barnes and her lawyer have, together with their publicist, been attempting to claim 15 minutes of fame on account of a terrible accident."

Shooting someone in the abdomen... some terrible accident alright! Let’s hope that Remy doesn’t end up like B-town bad boy Sanjay Dutt. Well.. what can we say... at least our B-town chicks are well behaved right. For now at least!
