International dancehall artist Sean Paul dropped his album, "Imperial Blaze" and set NYC on fire at his album release party this past Tuesday. The DH! crew was invited by Atlantic records to attend and we knew it was a party not to be missed. So we left our office in Times Square and headed to the Highline Ballroom. As we waited in front of the venue Sean Paul and his crew arrived in a white Escalade. Sean Paul got out of the car with his brother, Jason, and the members of his camp.
The artist looked sexy in his fitted white blazer and dark shades. It was still early so only a few fans rushed up to him and tried to follow him into the venue. Soon a long line of people formed waiting to get in. Thankfully our VIP bands kept us from waiting.
We walked up to the VIP balcony where several other members of the music industry joined us. We looked over the main floor that was filled with hundreds of fans packed against each other ready to move to Sean Paul's dancehall beats.
The crowd went crazy when Sean Paul took the stage. He got the crowd going with his hit old school tracks, "Gimme the Light," and "Like Glue." What got his fans screaming was, "So Fine," a song off his new album.
To add to all the hype, singer Estelle came on stage to perform her song, "Come Over" that features Sean Paul. The chemistry between the two was electric. Sean Paul was playful with his dance moves.
The rest of the evening continued with Sean Paul singing tracks from the new album. The show ended with the artist thanking his fans for the support and asking them to go out and buy "Imperial Blaze." Everyone was disappointed when the lights came on and this fun night of dancing ended.
