Shahrukh Khan Gets an Invite to the Golden Globes

January 09 2009 23:25 PST

For the first time ever, a Bollywood superstar has been invited to the prestigious Hollywood Golden Globe Awards!  That's right, the Badshah himself, Shahrukh Khan has received an invite to the Golden Globes taking place this Sunday at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles, California!  And this one isn't just a pesky rumor; Shahrukh Khan confirmed the news himself!  The invite comes at the perfect time as Shahrukh Khan is currently in LA shooting for Karan Johar's 'My Name is Khan,' co-starring one of his favorite on screen pals, Kajol.  The two are being seen together in full fledged on screen roles since 2001's 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham.'
According to reports Shahrukh will be accompanied by director Karan Johar at the star studded affair.  Although Karan Johar is a great choice, we kind of wish he would take Kajol instead.  After all the two make such a wonderful pair onscreen, it would be cool to see a shot of them in the audience together in all their formal gear!  Not too sure how their respective spouses would feel about that one though!  Kajol's hubby Ajay Devgun has been known to have a silent war going on with Shahrukh Khan in the past, and we're pretty sure that seeing them together on national American television wouldn't help the matter!

I m not a tough guy to listen or read to ur comments.so im retiring ..sorry guys..hav fun....i specially apologise to "khiladi n sanam"...for calling u as gays. but khiladi 1 more thing i would like to say ,i relly don't know how to type english..i m fond of commas n full stops.....i m relly laughing...sorry regretting while writing this.....i m a nonsense....i cannot write a complete sentence without too many use of .........fullstops... But khiladi u r genious n sanam u too. ....i m not joking....i m serious....hum hain rahi pyaar k ..phir nahin likhenge desi hitz pe....bye bye.... oh! khiladi ur BOSS i mean AKKI has paid highest tax this year among all bollywood stars...congratulations.....my srk is a looser this time.....poor guy....bye again ...with luv...from HELL.

January 12, 2009 06:16 PST

K I'll apologize for khiladi cus I think we are homies now, right khiladi. But lets forget the "fights" and focus on bigger new a.k.a Slumdog Millionaire! Fair?

January 12, 2009 06:13 PST

I'm not picking fights Sanam, I'm clarifying the facts. Khiladi called my name out so I called his out, plain and simple.

January 12, 2009 06:11 PST

I don't mean it as a dig Ishaa, I'm just clarifying the facts as Khiladi felt the need to try to correct me. It's a well known fact in the Bollywood industry that DDLJ is the longest running film in Bollywood history and I wanted to uphold that because it also happens to be my favorite Bollywood film of all time.

January 12, 2009 06:11 PST

Just drop the subject, stop trying to pick new fights. Its all about SLUMDOOOOG!!!!! CHEA!

January 12, 2009 06:09 PST

But who the eff cares?!! SLUMDOG EFFIN MILLIONARIE WON!!!!!! Hello?!

January 12, 2009 06:09 PST

K calm down, why are you fighting for no reason. Ya man Sholay has a broken record, meaning they stopped playing it and now its playing again. If you go to some theatres in India they are still playing Sholay. Honeslty calm down.

January 12, 2009 05:37 PST

ahahaha... tell them Komal!

January 12, 2009 05:15 PST

Khiladi, I'm not trying to attack anyone, but if you did the research you'd know that DDLJ broke Sholay's record. Sholay is no longer playing in theatres, where as DDLJ is. Sholay held the record for 25 years but that was broken by DDLJ. Sholay only ran from 1975 to 1980 while as DDLJ is still running since 1995. If you do the math 14 years beats 5 years. Don't believe me read this article on the Times of India: http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/articleshow/22393.cms So next time do some research before trying to correct me.

January 12, 2009 05:00 PST

um, komal, did u read what sanam wrote? that's a fact. sholay is longer running than DDLJ. sholay was 1975, ddlj was like 1995. both have been running since they have been made. that's like you saying you're older than your dad.

January 12, 2009 04:27 PST

Oh and I just read an interview SRK did with CNN IBN and he said he's taking Gauri along with Karan. Just had to clarify that after reading all the gay stuff on here. Oh and DDLJ is the longest running film ever in Indian film history, not Sholay.

January 12, 2009 04:27 PST

January 12, 2009 03:00 PST

hahhaha thanks Komal. Ya ishaa you do have a right to your opinion and no ones stopping you. I’m sorry if I offended you but that wasn't my intention, I was just expressing my views on SRK. And Sholay as been playing for 33 years…just saying :).....Ya I agree with khiladi, the other guy took it too far by calling us out, when we didn’t say anything about him/her.

January 12, 2009 00:15 PST

Okay so I just read that Karan Johar got a special invite from the Golden Globes as well, so SRK is not taking him, he got his own invite.

January 11, 2009 21:31 PST

fair enough, the only person i really have a problem with here is yeh dunya. before we have a discussion, let's at least be coherent. who taught you how to type or speak english?

January 11, 2009 08:27 PST

oh and he was chosen as one of NewsWeek's 50 most powerful people in the world!! And he was the only film star on the list. That is quite a big feat!

January 11, 2009 08:22 PST

khiladi, umm, the reason I criticized those women is because you were the first one to bring up Gauri's looks not me. WHy does it matter what I look like, I'm not the one who's comparing myself to them and nor am I in the public eye. I think SRK is a superb actor and that's why he's the most revered actor. He's even noted in mainstream America often on shows on E! Entertainment and so on. And him getting chosen to appear on and present at the Golden Globes proves that. I think he's the greatest actor in Bollywood at the moment. Don't get me wrong, I think Aamir is just as great, but I'll always be a die hard SRK fan, and I have been ever since I was 10 years old after watching Dilwale Dulhunia Le Jayenge (which is still playing in theatres to this day, 14 years later!) Just as you and Sanam have the right to post your opinions, I have mine.

January 11, 2009 06:25 PST

Ok first of all I can’t understand anything you said; you’re just typing nonsense. Stop trying to act like you are the innocent one because your not. You’re the first one who called us out, so tough guy take reasonability for that. Also learn to take a joke. Did I call you gay? No. I don’t care if you are a fan. I expressed my views and told you SRK’s flaws. SRK is a public figure and as a viewer of Bollywood films I have a right to critique his work. If this dumbass didn’t want to be critiqued, he shouldn’t have become an actor. And please don’t tell me what to do. I come on “deshits.com” to read the latest news; if it happens to be a lame SRK one, so what? I will read it and critique it. I’m sorry if you like his regurgitating movie roles but I don’t and where I’m from its ok to have different opinions than others. If you want to comment then do so, on the post itself and do not include me or anyone else in it if nothing negative has been said about you. Also stop being so homophobic.

January 11, 2009 04:28 PST

If u guys not comment on SRk anymore then i will stop......Promise...i don't wana insult any1 but ......u understand...i m a fan of SRK.......I can't bear anything against him...as..khiladi is fond of AKKI .....i will never comment on AKKi or AAMIR...SALLU...i love all of them....not as a gay....as their fan....so u should ...in my opinion stop criticising SRK anymore....if u don't like him don't read about him....don't leave any comment....willn't it b nice / good for all of us ? decision is yours.....

January 11, 2009 04:23 PST

What a gay type love bten the two..fighting for each other ..so nice...keep it on....If u can call SRK a gay...b ready to hav a comment on urself....coz Jaisi karni waisi bharni ..na mane to karke dekh....Jannat bhi hai Jahannum bhi hai na mane to mar k dekh....Gays...u..guys.,...spcially khiladi n sanam....u should not insult any ...coz khiladi started it by calling SRK a gay....so what's d prblm to when u r judged d same.....Yeh Dunya badi gooal hai...gum phir k waps sme place pe aajaoge jahan se nikle the.....

January 11, 2009 02:18 PST

no problem, sanam. the yeh duniya guy is retarded, his comment is not even coherent.

January 11, 2009 01:29 PST

Yo at least ishaa brought up some sensible points to argue with but who the hell is this “Yeh Dunya” guy. Did I say being gay was a bad thing, your ignorant person. You know the people who are the most homophobic are the ones who turn out to be the gayest. And thanks khiladi for the back up

January 11, 2009 01:29 PST

How can you compare Amir Khan to Shahrukh Khan? Amir Khan is a talented actor who chooses unique roles and doesn’t care about poplar consensus. Shahrukh Khan lacks talent; he chooses the same roles over and over again. His fame is due him sucking up to the directors and appearing in lame commercials. Amir Khan focuses on the craft and really tries to portray the character in which he is playing. Also Amir Khan’s wife is not that ugly, she’s just unique. :)

January 11, 2009 01:27 PST

haha.. y'all are pathetic... not everyone.. just the ones sayin SRK is gay and shiz... who gives a damn.. shout out to SRK and KJ for being able to go to the Golden Globes.

January 11, 2009 01:14 PST

ishaa, you actually couldn't say that to any of them. i would love to see what you look like, criticizing all these women. but in any case, lighten up, we're just messing around. but not really, i think he's gay. hahaha naa just playing. but seriously though.

January 11, 2009 00:37 PST

khiladi, please if that was the case I could say the same thing to Aamir Khan, who's wife is horrendous looking and Salman Khan who's 43 and never been married. And then there's Akshay's wife Twinkle who is equally as unnatractive. It's not about looks it's about love and if you knew anything about their love story, they've been together since SRK was 18 and Gauri was 15.

January 10, 2009 23:55 PST

LMAO KHILADI!!!!!!!!!!!!

January 10, 2009 23:40 PST

come now, ishaa. we all know his highly unattractive wife is a smokescreen to hide his true sexual orientation.

January 10, 2009 23:28 PST

that is so cool! Wow congrats to him! And the rumors and stuff about him being gay, come on, the man is happily married with two children. Some people are just so jealous. His wife isn't in LA with him so the obvious choice is Karan as he's a director and would appreciate going to the Golden Globes. Grow up people.

January 10, 2009 16:22 PST

excuse me? do you know me or sanam? that's what i thought. i'm not the one going to the golden globes with karan johar.

January 10, 2009 15:26 PST

Both of u khiladi n sanam r gay..ur jodi is like ABHI-JOHN in Dostana....they were fake but u guys truly gay......oh my god..i m livivg in a gay world...save..me...save...me...

January 10, 2009 08:48 PST

Ya I always knew Shahrukh Khan was gay...not saying its a bad thing.

January 10, 2009 07:42 PST

u r a gay then ? MR.Khiladi...congratulations.....for belonging 2 a special catagory.....very gay type thought?

January 10, 2009 03:35 PST

his date is karan johar HAHAHAHAHA, then clearly the rumor of their jodi was not a rumor at all! LOL
