After Shilpa was announced the winner of the internationally acclaimed and controversial show, 'Big Brother,' she was given the royal treatment and taken to meet Queen Elizabeth II and her husband, Prince Phillip at a Commonwealth Day event in London. Shetty was one of five panel speakers on the occasion at the Westminster Abbey event where she touched on issues pertaining to AIDS and racism. Shetty told the congressional that, “We have to cope with differences on a daily basis, but unless we do, we have no future,” especially directing this in regards to her childhood in Mumbai.
