The movie, "Slumdog Milionaire" keeps getting more and more recognition. It is absolutely unbelievable how a movie that only had a fifteen million dollar budget, could be picking up nominations and awards everywhere it goes. But despite all the top Hollywood films that were made in 2008, much like the storyline, “Slumdog Millionaire” has been living out its own fairytale, and is receiving a lot of media attention. The actors and the film have been getting nominated for a number of important awards, with some recent talks of an Oscar in its future. The movie “Slumdog Millionaire” has already been nominated for four Golden Globes which it will hopefully be receiving this Sunday at the ceremony.
Well, there’s more good news for the movie as the 14th Annual Critics’ Choice Awards has also jumped in line to honor the film, by presenting the Danny Boyle directed movie with five different awards! The five awards which were given were for Best Director, Best Composer, Best Writer, Best Young Actor and of course the highly sought after Best Picture of 2008 Award. “Slumdog Millionaire” received these honors in Los Angeles by two hundred of the top film critics in the United States, the Broadcast Film Critics Association. If last year’s Critics’ Choice winners are any indicators, there are Academy Awards in store for the film next. “No Country for Old Men” won Best Picture and Director in the Critics’ Awards ceremonies in 2007 and then went on to win the same prizes when they reached the Oscars. We can’t wait to see how well “Slumdog Millionaire” does at the Oscars. For those of you who haven’t seen it, all of the attention makes it one which is definitely worth a view. As for those who already have, do you agree with the critics? Is it as good as everyone says it is?

I'm also eagerly awaiting the Golden Globe and Oscar decisions! The buzz around the film is terrific. I think Vikas Swarup, on whose novel "Q&A" the film is based, deserves a mention. It's a fantastic read and will soon be re-released under the same title as the film. Feel free to visit my blog to read and comment! &...xxx http://www.theampersandagency.co.uk/blog/
