Slumdog! Slumdog! SLUMDOG!!! Oh, what a night for Slumdog Millionaire! The film dominated the Golden Globes by winning all four of the awards it was nominated for: Best Screen Play (Simon Beufoy), Best Original Score (A.R. Rahman), Best Director (Danny Boyle) and Best Motion Picture Drama... Phew! Desi Hits! along with all the Desis who watched around the globe, shared pride as Bollywood made a strong presence in Hollywood! The stunning Freida Pinto looked gorgeous in her long olive green gown, as she commented on how Slumdog Millionaire has brought so much glory to India! Freida Pinto accessorized her gown by adding the desi element of shiny Indian bangles to match her outfit. Frieda Pinto shared a synopsis of the film as she stood next to the 'Badshah of Bollywood,' Shahrukh Khan!
Desis watched their very own Shahrukh Khan as he put Bollywood even more on the map by sharing his Bollywood flair with Hollywood as a presenter. Shahrukh Khan looked oh so sexy in his black tuxedo, with a non-traditional shiny black tie, which he tucked inside his shirt! As for Anil Kapoor, he looked sophisticated in his attire, but not as sexy as Bollywood's 'King Khan' Shahrukh Khan! Anil Kapoor displayed a great show of enthusiasm, as he jumped up and down ecstatically, as Danny Boyle received the Best Director award. Can't blame the guy though, we also shared his awesome enthusiasm! As for A.R. Rahman, he left his shaggy hair behind and sported a clean look for this Hollywood event. He humbly accepted his well-deserved award for Best Original Score for a Motion Picture. It is really unfortunate though that his name was mispronounced several times, and even when they attempted to correct it... they were wrong again. Get your act together Hollywood Foreign Press!
Among members of the Bollywood film fraternity already mentioned, Karan Johar was also present in support of his friends, Shahrukh Khan and those affiliated with Slumdog Millionaire! The highlight of the night was when the entire room gave a standing ovation to the cast and crew of the film as they received the honor of Best Motion Picture Drama of the year. The hot and sexy American actress, Christina Applegate, nominee for Best Comedic Actress for, 'Samantha Who?' was seen saying , 'That's so cool!' as she watched the cast and crew of Slumdog Millionaire receive the most prestigious award of the night! We agree with you Christina Applegate, but "cool" still does not describe how much happiness and pride desis may have felt at that moment! The young and talented lead actor of the film, Dev Patel shed tears of joy as he stood with his team with a look of gratefulness of being a part of the winning project! Danny Boyle also shared emotion as his hard work was recognized at this highly regarded industry event! Go Slumdog Millionaire! See you at the Oscars! ... And Shahrukh Khan, we are sure we will be seeing you around Hollywood Hills again soon!

He is a master mind, his music is sooooo incredible and anyone AND I MEAN ANY1 who thinks A.R Rehman is average or below himesh needs to wake up and realize who is the best....ok u know all the people talking about A.R Rehman negatively are obviously just being jealous of the fact that he has such good music....i love and support his music! He has so mannny rocking songs that you haters most likely listen to but when it comes time to comment you people just say stupid shit!!!! you guys need to take some time to realize...
omg, he is definately not "a below average composer"...okay there is really no point in arguing with you fanfan! all i have to say is that your definately under the wrong impression.
he is a below average composer.u don't know the truth behind his music composition
haha wow so it is confirmed like i had said, once again its pretty obvious that AR Rahman is an exceptional composer!
BOLLYWOOD ADMIRES REHMAN. The whole of Bollywood, including the Bachchans, Gulzar and Javed Akhtar, have reacted with joy to A.R. Rahman winning the coveted Golden Globe awards for his musical score Jai Ho in Slumdog Millionaire and they feel this is just the beginning for many more international awards to come for the talented composer. This is what the celebrities have to say about Rahman's achievement: Aishwarya Rai: This is absolutely fantastic news. Superb in the superlative. Heartiest congratulations to Rahman. He's truly blessed. An incredible talent, a wonderful soul and has always been and will be the pride of our country. Pritam Chakraborty: Wow! I was kind of expecting this. Congratulations to him. It's a proud moment for any Indian specially the music fraternity. I pray that it's just the beginning for him. Amitabh Bachchan: Congratulations. A reward most deserving. Abhishek Bachchan: What a glorious moment for him. He continues to make us proud. I'm very lucky to have worked with him in Yuva, Guru and Delhi 6. My congratulations to him. Gulzar: It's the horse that has won the race. The one riding the horse was Rahman. My lyrics for Jai Ho were just the lagaam (rein) for the horse. Rahman has always been a clutter-breaker. He broke the antara-mukhda-antara (stanza-intro-stanza) mould in Hindi film songs. Now he has broken into the international arena. I'm working with him on the new Mani Ratnam project Ravan. As always it's a pleasure. All I can say for Rahman is, Jai ho. Bappi Lahiri: It's a great honour for Bollywood. We're all proud of Rahman. God bless him. Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra: I guess on the way to the Oscars he has picked up a Golden Globe. The best thing about his music in Slumdog Millionaire is that his work in the film is so revolutionary and potent, he made the jury's job easier. God bless Rahman for bringing India back on the cultural world-map. This will pave the way for bigger things from him and from our country. Javed Akhtar: I'm thrilled, happy and proud, but not at all surprised. It's inevitable for a genius like Rahman to get international acclaim. Shekhar Ravjiani: Rahman is a genius. The music of Slumdog Millionaire is outstanding. It deserves every award on this planet. I'm extremely happy for him. Udit Narayan: I've had the pleasure of working with Rahman many times. In fact, I had sung for Lagaan that had his music. He's a fine human being and composer. I always say good things happen to good people. This honour that he has brought to the country proves it. Today when I have cut down on my singing, but he's one of the composers I'd want to sing for even if I would stop singing. Ashutosh Gowariker: Rahman and I have worked together in Lagaan and Swades. We're now doing What's Your Raashee. In one word he is fantastic! He's a trailblazer. I'm so very proud of him and too thrilled. And his speech at the Golden Globe ceremony was superb, short, sweet and full of gratitude for his fans. Wow! I'll exhale only when I meet him. Sunidhi Chauhan: When I heard Rahman saab had won a Golden Globe, it didn't register for a while. It took me time to understand what he has done. I'm too too happy to say anything. I haven't sung too many songs from him. Recently, I sang a Hindi song for him in an English-language film. Singing a Rahman composition is a privilege. I'm glad the West is realising his worth. Shreya Ghosal: I'm extremely happy and thrilled to hear this. It's a huge achievement. I'm very proud of Rahman sir. This is just the beginning for him. Farhan Akhtar: I'm very happy for him. The recognition is truly deserved. Congratulations to Rahman and Danny Boyle. Vishal Bharadwaj: Things just won't stop here for Rahman. The genius shall now bring an Oscar for us. Bipasha Basu: He's an absolute genius. He deserves every award. And the applause he's getting globally is richly deserved. I feel immense pride. Anand Raj Anand: He deserves it. He's the only music director who got opportunities to work with big banners and super talented directors. I wish him many many more achievements. Sameer Anjaan: It's a proud moment for every Indian. I'm lucky to have worked with him. He deserves much more. Himesh Reshammiya: He deserves it. He's my favourite. Kunal Ganjawala: This is just the beginning of many more international awards to come for Rahman.
