Snoop Dogg and RDB 'Singh is Kinng' Title Track
July 03 2008 19:00 PST
The highly anticipated Snoop Dogg - RDB collaboration for the Singh is Kinng, soundtrack is finally ready to be unleashed! This marks the first mainstream collaboration between a Hip Hop star, Bhangra stars and Bollywood. So we decided to get reaction from our presenters to see if the track matched the hype. Listen to the track below and read the reactions as well, and be sure to drop us a comment with your thoughts!
ARUN: "After RDB's awesome Bollywood hit, Rafta Rafta, I was looking forward to their next foray into the movies. So much hype, so much potential and all that has been delivered is a poor West Coast influenced Desi track. Even easy to please Bollywood heads won't be giving this one the thumbs up!!!!! Lucky for Snoop and RDB the movie is a sure fire hit that will give this track legs is doesn't deserve."
JAY GATZBY: "Bollywood meets Compton on this pioneering fusion track. I could've definitely done without Akshay Kumar rapping - don't quit your day job - stick to acting. And Snoop? That verse was desrespectfully poor, almost as if he didn't even take the track seriously and was there strictly for the check."
KUNAL M: "Snoop did exactly what Bollywood wanted from him – a superstar name, a non-complicated verse, his signature humming (singing, if you prefer), some verbal swagger, and ad-libs here and there. Unlike my esteemed co-presenter, Mr. Gatzby, I find this track and particularly Snoop’s part kinda enjoyable. I think it will further expand Snoop’s legacy globally. Don’t be surprised if you hear of Snoop and crew getting kicked off an Air India plane in the near future!"
KID FRESH: "A poor attempt at West Coast music and a waste of one of Hip Hop's finest rappers."
GHETTO GURU: "All round this is Snoop Dogg at his lowest and RDB production is weak. I've heard this track 10 times and I still cant bloody remember it."
MC SPECIAL: "Great to hear Snoop stepping in the Punjabi music, but I'm personally not feeling the track, however great for Asian music to be pushed into the mainstream."
DJ SACHY: "Another one of those over hyped releases from the Bollywood world. Big names on paper... but fails to deliver! It's one of those cases where I think everyone has tried a little too hard and the outcome is poor. On the flipside, the Tigerstyle remix of Bas Ek King, ft Hard Kaur on the soundtrack is defo a banging track!"
MENIS: "Not feeling this tune at all! Sounds tacky and even though its Bollywood it could of been done 1000 times better. Really disappointed man all this hype over nothing."

I actually liked it..minus the "Singh is King" phrase and Akshays rapping. If they took out that out it woulda been HOT!

although I don't really like the song, it is catchy. I think it's gonna work just because there's so much hype surrounding the movie.

I think just the tempo meter of the song is a bit slower a bit faster could have been better but may be than the west coast feeling would have disappeared. Anyways I think over all it pretty catchy I am sure it will grow on people after it is promoted properly.
