The Bhangra scene can get quite boring at times as many tracks sound the same. How many times can we hear and fall in love with a Punjabi song about daru with a fast dhol beat? Yeah, not so often. Then we always have the case of the one hit wonder artist who just can’t seem to release new music. Despite all these frustrations, Bhangra artists have really delivered this summer! Not only did one singer make an amazing comeback, but we’ve also seen a lot of new and even revamped performers. With all these musical treats, we had to share the excitement with you in two segments!

The summer started with Bhangra sensation Juggy D back on the scene! After his debut album we all wondered when the next one would come out. Unfortunately, the song "Vang Teri" is not off of a Juggy D album, rather it’s Taj-E’s summer hit, but we love the collaboration. The video has Juggy on his feet and the guys are having a good laugh. What more do you need on your summer holiday than a good mate and sexy girls?

Next, newcomer Jaz Dhami was getting ready to release his self-titled debut album. To get his fans hyped, he released his second single and video "Theke Wali" and it went on to dominate local radio charts and iTunes top 100 world songs. His handsome looks, cute smile, and undeniably smooth lyrics have made this debut memorable. We expect great things from Jaz!

Though Panjabi By Nature’s album "Homegrown" was released just before the summer, the video for "Sohni Lagdi" didn’t come out until June. "Sohni Lagdi" may not be as flashy as other videos, but the Bhangra tune fused with Reggae and dance beats make it unique. We also like the Apache Indian collabo on the track.

AG Dolla is an Urban Desi artist, yet he managed to shock us all with his album "Mr. Shah" and its ode to Punjabi music. AG and Mentor’s song "Club Crazy" is crazy! The upbeat track is fun and so is the video. We just want to get up and dance when we hear this song. The summer’s all about having a good time, and this track captures the essence of summer days.

As the summer comes to an end, so does Part I of our summer Bhangra hits. We were absolutely impressed with the earlier songs released this summer and we promise that the more recent releases are just as good, if not better!
