The last time we reported on the tragic murders of songstress Jennifer Hudson's mother, brother, and nephew, the police only had one suspect, estranged husband of Hudson's sister William Balfour. After his parole hearing for a1999 attempted murder charge today, police determined that he will remain in custody, while the investigation of the murders continues. Although police can't charge him yet, an unnamed law enforcement official tipped off the Chicago Tribune stating that Balfour was present at the home of Darnell Donnerson, Jennifer Hudson's mother, the morning of the murders. The Tribune also reported that Balfour's current girlfriend admitted to police his involvement in the murders, which lead police to deem him as a "person of interest" and not set him free after the hearing. Balfour's parole stems from a 1999 attempted murder conviction, which was revoked once Balfour was linked to the Hudson family murders. We hope justice is served.
