The National Board of Review Honors 'Slumdog Millionaire'

The film 'Slumdog Millionaire' took home top honors from the National Board of Review. The film beat out other films, such as 'Burn After Reading,' 'The Dark Knight,' and 'Wall-E,' to win Best Picture. 'Slumdog Millionaire' was the big winner taking home three prizes total.

Dev Patel won Breakthrough Performance by an Actor for his portrayal of Jamal Malik in the film. The film's screenplay writer, Simon Beaufoy, shared the Best Adapted Screenplay prize with Eric Roth of 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.' This proves that their really is magic when east meets west!
