It's Friday and you know what that means, Desi Hits! is here to tell you if the latest B-Town flick, Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic, is worth your cash or not, as part of Filmi Fridays.

MOVIE REVIEW

CAST:  Saif Ali Khan, Rani Mukerji, Ameesha Patel, Rishi Kapoor

PLOT:  Ranbeer Talwar (Saif Ali Khan) is a leading industrialist, and although he may be wealthy, he is alone, until one day in a landmark court case, he is given custody of 4 orphan children.  But the problem is, they hate him and want revenge and he can't face them.  Miserable, the children pray to God (played by Rishi Kapoor) for a savior, and he delivers in the form of an angel, Geeta (Rani Mukerji).  She comes in a self-proclaimed nanny and tries to bring the children closer to Ranbeer... and so begins a story of fun, emotions, and a little bit of love and magic.

THE GOOD:  The film fits the 'feel-good' category to a T.  It's hard not to smile and forget about your worries while watching Rani and Saif win over the children's love.  It's a great film to watch with the whole family.  The child actors are adorable and they fit their roles impeccably.  Saif's role is very well played and he makes you hate him and then love with throughout the film.  Yet, the angel of the film has to be Rani, as there is no other actress you can picture playing the role of the mischievous Geeta.  It's an emotional story, but thankfully it's told with out any overboard tear sessions.

THE BAD:  The scrpit is not completely original, as it adds elements of Mary Poppins and the Sound of Music.  Ameesha Patel's character is annoying and they definitely could've done without her, although she did add a little bit of glam in the Lazy Lamhe, track.  The ending is totally Bollywood and completely expected.

THE VERDICT:  If you're looking for  flashy cars or glamour this is not the movie for you, but if you want to experience a film that you can watch with your family and forget about the world for a few hours, then this is the film for you!  If you're down, this flick is gauranteed to turn it upside down!
