October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and it is a time to celebrate the survivors, remember those who have been lost, and support those who are fighting the desease today. Across the nation, people participate in Awareness walks to raise money for various foundations, while others visit hospitals. Urban Desi artist Tina Sugandh is taking part in all kinds of activities with her own tributes.
It was just a year ago that Tina lost her mother to cancer. Tina's mother was her inspiration, teacher, and best friend. Having experienced a personal loss from cancer, Tina is reaching out to others in similar situations. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Tina is doing two things. She is giving out a free song to her fans and she will perform at the American Cancer Society this Sunday.
Tina dedicates "Snake Charmer" to all cancer survivors. The song is about strength and supporting one another and it is available on Tina's Web site. Her performance at the American Cancer Society will be hosted by Angie Martinez. 18,000 people are expected to attend the event.
It is nice to see artists giving back to their communities and work for a cause that is close to their hearts. Tina has lost her mother and has turned her loss into an opportunity to promote cancer awareness.
