Desi Hits Identity has dropped in India! Congrats! How's the album being received?

Raghav: very well.we did the crazy vh1 tour which was whirlwind 2 say da least. looking forward to reconnecting with my fans out here

Desi Hits Also, its great to hear that Universal is distributing the project...thats big! Why did you decide to release this project in India first?

Raghav: lets face it. if it were not for da indian community around the world since '04 i would not even have a career. i had 2 say thanks

Raghav: not to mention my new album that you will hear in 6 months is very different and i really wanted to do some hindi stuff over here.

Desi Hits So can we except a global release for Identity, cause your UK and US fans are craving some music! ;)

Raghav: it will be out in dubai in sept and then on itunes worldwide at the same time.

Desi Hits Nice! Since you're in India now, let's talk some about your fans out there...how're they unique from your fans elsewhere?

Raghav: honestly i was surprised at how wild they were this weekend. i have given them every reason to forget and they were buckwild

Awesome! We've seen some video of Mumbai show and they def look hype! What're you doing out there to have fun? Going out at all?

Raghav: i'm going out this weekend.. its funny how well documented it is that i don't like to party.that changes in nyc and mumbai tho..

Raghav: its hard to concentrate at all right now MAJOR fireworks outside for the ganesh festival.. dancin in the streets for sure

Desi Hits That's just a rumor cause we've seen you out here having fun! Do you have alot of friends in the industry in India?

Raghav: yeah i have a few.. i have received some very sage advice from many of them..its amazing to see how small the business is out here

Raghav: at any givn time 25% of the industry is at the cafe at the jw marriott.. last time i was here i had a great talk with mahima about

Raghav: the ups and downs of the indian industry.. she is a very smart/sweet person and has alot of knowledge of how things work out here

Desi Hits Back to the album, Jaadugar is a nice record! Are U creating more clubby/dance records or even Bollywood tracks in that vein?

Raghav: there is nothing more filmy on the album than naino waali..thats as bollywood as i can get.. the last few times i was out here i

Raghav: was really surprised to hear all these great dance beats but i fely the songs on them were really sub par and extra cheese so i

Raghav: wanted a real ance groove but with a strong hindi song on top of it.thats what i luv about this album is i can b as desi as i want

Raghav: and when you all hear the next album i know i keep saying it but it's like a whole new sound not just for me but new period..

Desi Hits yeah agreed on the cheezy lyrics...We think u should take over those beats! haha...there's really alot of gr8 music out there

Raghav: ive sat down with so many of the music directors over here and its not their fault but they work on like 7 films at a time..

Raghav: thats insane.. there is no room for quality control, but that's what separates an A R Rahman from everyone else.. its ok to have

Raghav: a hit for a minute but i want to make tracks that are never dated and that you can listen to in 5 yrs.i want humrahee 2 b timeless

Desi Hits So we're hearing that you're working on another project...can you shed any light on it?

Raghav: after mj passed i felt like i needed to look at where i wanted to be.. i want to be an innovator..identity solidifies my pride in

Raghav: the storyteller sound and making hindi music as well.. i'm prouder of that than anything.. but i want my billie jean moment where

Raghav: people say ?%$ that is a new sound and it moves me like nothing i have heard before from this guy.i want to make an album for life

Raghav: this next album is it and you all at desi hits know i would never talk about something with this much vigour unless i meant it

Raghav: i mean it!

Raghav: well i hope you all love it and i promise i wont disappear like i did this time around.. if you will have me that is??

Raghav: easy.. the whole hyderabad show.. they were out of this world noisy.. the system was blasting and slimm and i could not hear a

Raghav: thing the whole 50 minute set. the crowd just carried the show with their energy. that is rare and i have never seen it like that!
