With the hip hop industry full of egos and PR stunts, it’s hard to find a legitimate rapper who’s honestly putting himself out there for the world to see. Yet, with his tell it as it is lyrics and down to earth persona, it doesn’t get any realer then Canadian rapper Blitz.

His single ‘Juliet or Heer’ has been blowin up Desi Hits! airwaves and is a massive hit all over the world. As Blitz gets ready for a month long promo tour in the UK to support the release of his album, ‘The Rhyme Book’ out on October 12th, he let Desi Hits! get a peak inside his world.

Blitz has been in the game since 2000, when his demo got into the hands of radio presenters in the UK, which led to Punjabi MC inviting him to be on his show, ’60 Minutes of Desi.’ With all that exposure he gained a huge underground following and he’s worked for what he has all along the way.

“I have that grind and hustle,” says Blitz and he’s not joking. Blitz and his partner would travel to the UK selling mix CDs on the streets and wouldn’t even eat until every last CD was sold... talk about dedication! With such a strong work ethic it’s no wonder his struggle has led him to create his first full length album.

Blitz describes this album as majority of hip hop but with Desi sounds as well. The Desi elements no doubt come from the collabos he’s done with Bikram Singh, Gunjan, Mentor, Des-C and Tigerstyle, who produced many of the tracks. In fact, Tigerstyle is releasing the album as a joint venture between their production company Soldier Sound Recordings and VIP Records.

“I want people to know how long and hard we worked to bring this out,” said Blitz. “I’m not an overnight sensation, this is not an internet buzz… it’s a legitimate buzz, from hard work.” With the video for ‘Juliet or Heer’ releasing soon, and his next single, ‘The Way I Shine’ set to hit airwaves soon, there’s no doubt in our minds that this underground rap star is set to take over the Urban Desi scene and beyond.
