We know you are all dying to find out where your favorite Urban Desi artists have been hiding these past few weeks so we’re going to give you the low-down on their whereabouts in the world!
Besides making waves on the scene, a lot of Urban Desi singers and producers are working to support a good cause or to rep the genre outside the world of entertainment.
So here’s our list of Urban Desis traveling the globe to share their skills and creativity!
U.S. President Barack Obama doesn’t take Diwali lightly! To make the festival of lights special this year, he invited the all-male a cappella group Penn Masala to perform at the White House. And DJ Rekha was there to take in the show first-hand! DesiHits.com spoke to the world-renowned DJ about the experience and this is what she told us: "I never thought in my lifetime I’d personally witness an African-American U.S. President light the White House diya for Diwali and explain the meaning of the day so eloquently."
U.K. pop sensation Jay Sean helped out fellow pop prince Justin Timberlake by performing at the "The Justin Timberlake and Friends Concert Benefiting Shriners Hospitals For Children" held last weekend in Las Vegas. The "Down" star continued to conquer America, showing off his beat-box skills at the charity event.

When producer B-Projekt threw a party in Mumbai to celebrate the release of his debut album "Blind Folded," last week, Juggy D wasn’t going to miss it! The "Ni Soniye" singer flew in to India’s financial capital to party all night with his friend and colleague at RA nightclub.
One Urban Desi artist who has not been seen on the scene lately but who is working to promote a good cause is Tina Sugandh. She recently lost her mother to breast cancer so she decided to perform at the American Cancer Society in Brooklyn last week in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It is nice to see artists giving back to their communities and work for a cause that is close to their hearts. Tina has lost her mother and has turned her loss into an opportunity to promote cancer awareness.
There you have it folks, our Urban Desi star track! What do you think of these singing globe-trotters? Drop us a line.
