Urban Desi's 'SupaWoman'

An artist giving away 5,000 free copies of her CD to auto rickshaw walla’s in India?... We can only be talking about the Urban Desi Industry’s hottest female MC, Hard Kaur and the CD in question is her debut album, ‘SupaWoman’ (SaReGaMa Records).

The first single ‘Look 4 Me’ featuring Ash King is already a massive hit and the album is now out on Desi Hits! iTunes store. Click here to cop the album! We had a chance to chat with HK and get all the info on the album which has been in the making for two years.

“Every song is different, nothing sounds the same,” says Hard Kaur. “I’m a musician; I want to make music that’s different.” One of those “different” tracks is the second single, ‘Bombay Deewana’ produced by DJ Essence and Bobby Rocks. The track has an up-tempo Bollywood feel and features HK rapping “It’s the land of the Bollywood stars, heroes pass me by in flashy cars up ahead.” The video has already been shot and features Kaur rolling up in a pimped out auto rickshaw complete with diamonds on the exterior!

Other album highlights include, ‘My Girls,’ which is an ode to the female talent in the game and features RnB singer Sabrina, Lost Souljah, Shareefa Shai and DJ Kayper. There’s also ‘Hype’ which features rapper AG Dolla. Then there’s the stand out track ‘Smile’ which is a dedication to the youth of today to keep smiling no matter what happens. It’s a shining example of the depth of HK as an artist. Of course the album would be incomplete without an autobiographical, “f*ck you” track titled ‘Dreams,’ where she raps about being bullied while growing up.

The whole album is a reflection of the rappers life, right down to the title, ‘Supawoman,’ which is dedicated to her mother, who she says is “the real Hard Kaur.” Whenever Kaur was feeling pressure to quit the game, her mother was the one that was there supporting her.

This tough MC isn’t afraid to say what’s on her mind and she doesn’t ever hold back. “I put my soul into this… I’ve been waiting really long to put it out,” says HK. “Get the album, or I’ll kill you. You don’t know what you’re missing.” Honestly, isn’t that reason enough to cop the album? Click here to hit up HK's artist page! Click here to download a FREE track off HK's album!

I just bought the album the other day and it's pretty good, much better than the song she has in Johnny Gaddar.
