'53431'- A Journey Through 10 Years of Swami

July 29 2009 10:50 PST

Ever since we brought you the world premiere of “Sugarless” by the Electro-Bhangra group Swami there has been more and more buzz about their upcoming album, “53431.”  So here is the deal with what to expect from this release.

Diamond (DJ Swami) tells us, “53431 is a retro futuristic journey through 10 years of Swami. A high energy driven anthem exploration from 'Desi Nu Skool Beatz' to the infamous 'DesiRock' album and onto the pop-electro-funkifying ‘EQUALIZE’. With two new hot tracks 'Sugarless' and 'Tonight' this is much more than a Greatest Hits compilation...it's your Swami journey so far with a hint of what is to come..."

The album also features two remixes done by BBC DJs Nerm and D-Code.   “53431” is a showcase of the evolution of Swami’s sound as well as a taste of their future release.  The group tells us that their new tracks “Sugarless” and “Tonight” are songs that will also be put on their studio album that will release late 2009.
Well after all these years of hard work and recognition it seems fitting that Swami is now releasing an album featuring their works over the years.

They have had quite a history, From being featured on the Hollywood film, “New York Minute” to having their songs showcased in the international video game "FIFA World Cup 06". There is no saying whose attention they will grab next!  The album is set to drop on August 17, 2009.  What tracks do you hope to see on this compilation?

Sugarless just proves what some of us have known for a long time - that Swami are the BEST this scene has, and criminally underrated. While the young teenage desi's fawn over their repetitive watered-down producers and their untalented crews, Swami are the real deal! Killer production, killer songwriting, killer vocalists, killer live performances and more hits than you can shake a stick at whilst constantly progressing and evolving! If Sugarless is any indication, the next Swami album will leave everyone else in the dust! Major props to Swami!
