The Desi music scene has evolved quite a bit in the past decade, so much so that we now have Urban Desi as a music genre. Within this umbrella we have come across amazing talent and some heavy rappers. Check out some of the biggest names on the scene and let us know who you like best.

Bohemia is now known as the Punjabi rapper. He's made his mark on the Urban Desi scene as well as the Bollywood one. Bohemia's rapping skills caught Akshay Kumar's attention getting Bohemia on the "8X10 Tasveer" soundtrack. This California native first stepped onto the scene with his album 'Vich Pardesan De (In the Foreign Land)' in 2002. From there he released his album 'Pesa Nasha Pyar (Money Drugs Love)' in 2006 and now his most recent album 'Da Rap Star'. His hard-hitting lyrics and strong beats have gotten him to the top. Check out his latest video for the song 'Charso Bees.'

Another rapper who has made his way to Bollywood is Blitzkrieg. This rapper hails from Canada and has been rapping since he was in elementary school. Blitz's debut album 'The Rhyme Book' hit the stands in 2007. With songs such as 'Spell on me (Jadoo)' and 'Way I Shine,' Blitz has been on the top of music charts everywhere. He was also a headliner this summer at the RBC desiFEST. Watch his video that features the hit songs 'Narm Kalja' and 'Juliet and Heer' from his album 'The Rhyme Book'.

Our very own Brown Boi, Menis, dropped his single 'Kool 2 B Asian' this summer and got people to pay attention to this rap sensation! From his signature style comprised of unique tees and wacky caps to his lyrical talents, Menis is reppin' his London roots and doing it big. His debut track 'Sshh' got him on the map in the UK and now with 'Kool 2 B Asian' he hopes to do the same worldwide. Check out his big video featuring some of the biggest Urban Desi stars such as Kazz Kumar, of Sona Family, AG Dolla, Rishi Rich and so many more.

Not only have the males been taking the Desi rap scene by storm, we've also have had some hot ladies make their mark. Hard Kaur has become a phenomenon. Not only has she rapped independently, she has also become a Bollywood regular and even a dancer as a contestant on 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa'! She's currently on tour with Sonu Niigaam and Sunidhi Chauhan.  Hard Kaur's solo album, 'SupaWoman,' packed in 10 tracks all of different vibes and stories. A female rapper who's good?! Hard Kaur shocked many and is now a favorite. Listen to her song 'Look 4 Me' featuring Ash King.

Another lady on the Desi rap scene is Ms. Scandalous. She became the first woman to work with Panjabi Hit Squad and together they have been releasing hit after hit. Growing up in the 'Little India' of London, South Hall, Ms. Scandalous was always been a fan of her Desi culture, yet living in London she loved the English culture too. Her first song 'Hai Hai' went straight to the top, and with this Urban spin on the Bhangra classic, she got music listeners excited! 2005 marked her debut with her album 'Ladies First.' The BBC Asian network charts had this leading lady on their charts for weeks. Check out her latest song 'Aag' featuring another Panjabi Hit Squad lady, Alyssia.

Well there you have it, a taste of the most popular Desi rappers on the scene. Who's your favorite?

AG Dolla is far better than most of those rappers. Its bad you missed him out, a fantastic mixtape, and a new professional album thats doing the rounds well. And thats the thing, he's actually put alot of material and actually doing things. Desi Hits you missed a trick here. I do agree that Bohemia and Bliztkreig are decent. One of the best that also hasn't been mentioned is Raxstar with his great angst driven lyrical ability. But I wished he could through with more material

Nivla by far... second gotta shout out Blitz bein from my hometown (T.O.) and all, but he's got good stuff too. AG Dolla and D-Boy are up there as well. Bohemia's got potential, gotta hear more from him.

Kidd Skilly runs circles around all mentioned above and probably the most popular as well, AG Dolla is better than most of them, Raxstar is a beast, Sir Ah is better lyrically, S Endz is more unique, hell Abishek Bachan is better than Menis and HardKaur combined! Desihits do some research or stick to Bollywood next time.
