MIMS has got nothing on the six heavy-hitting Desi artists who collaborated on “This is Why We Hot” – the remix. The Bilz, Kashif, Nivla, Kateyez, and Drega all teamed up on this track and threw in a little Reggae, making it even better than the original (get View the promo video and hear the track now!) The Bilz, made up of Master D & DJ Vicious, were the masterminds behind the track and brought together the featured Desi artists for the remix because “no one’s really repped North America.” All of the artists for this track are from NA – The Bilz, Kashif, Drega, and Kateyez from Canada, Nivla from New York. “I came up with it for Kashif, put Drega on it – because we worked with him on “O Meri Rani,’ and Kateyez,” said Vicious. “And I knew Nivla had the talent.” Brimming with ego and the talent to match, the track features Nivla and Drega rapping, a Reggae twist from Kateyez, Kashif’s boy-band voice, and an off-the-wall ‘this is why we hot’ hook courtesy of Master-D from the Bilz. “Master-D likes to put his own flavor on things,” said DJ Vicious about the unexpected twist of the title verse. Canada and the US are often eclipsed by the UK’s R&B scene, but North America can finally rest easy. With the “This is Why We Hot” guys repping the States and Canada, the NA scene is only getter hotter.
