Will.i.am, apl.de.ap, Taboo, and Fergie, also known as The Black Eyed Peas, hit the mainstream R&B and hip/hop scene in 2003 with their breakout album "Elephunk ." The L.A. based group has since sold over 20 million albums worldwide.
In 1998, The Black Eyed Peas released their first album "Behind the Front" with Interscope Records. In 2000 came "Bridging the Gap." Singer Stacy "Fergie" Ferguson was not yet part of the group. She replaced Kim Hill in 2003, in time for "Elephunk ."
The mega hit single "Where is the Love?" featuring Justin Timberlake was the first single from "Elephunk ." It only made it to #8 on the U.S. Hot 100, but topped charts in the rest of the world. Then came "Shut Up," which also had an enormous success at the charts worldwide. The third single "Hey Mama" didn't have as much success as the previous singles off the album but was chosen to feature on iPod's "Silhouette" TV commercials. "Elephunk " ended up earning The Black Eyed Peas Gold and Platinum in the U.S., the U.K., as well as in other European countries.
In 2005, the now established group released "Monkey Business." The first single "Don't Phunk with My Heart" hit the top of the charts immediately. It was followed by "Don't Lie," and "My Humps."
In 2006, Black Eyed Peas released the remix album "Renegotiations: The Remixes to iTunes." It features remixed versions of "Ba Bump", "My Style", "Feel It", "Disco Club", "They Don't Want Music", "Audio Delite at Low Fidelity", and "Like That."
The funky electro-hop beat band just released their fifth album "The E.N.D." (The Energy Never Dies), in June 2009. The first hit single "Boom Boom Pow" was followed by "Alive" and "Meet Me Halfway."
With all four members working on various solo projects every now and then, let's hope that "The E.N.D." is not the end for The Black Eyed Peas.
