Michael Jackson was born on August 29th, 1958, in Gary, Indiana. At the age of five, Michael and his brothers started The Jackson 5. In 1968, The Jackson 5 signed with Motown Records and moved to California. Four of their original singles, "I Want You Back", "ABC", "The Love You Save", and "I'll Be There" all went to number one.
Michael Jackson recorded four solo albums and The Jackson 5 recorded fourteen albums until 1976 when they signed with Epic Records.
Michael Jackson released his first solo album "Off the Wall' in 1979 and in 1982 he came out with "Thriller." During the 'Motown 25 Years' anniversary show, Michael Jackson performed one of his signature moves, the legendary moonwalk. In 1984, Michael Jackson won the Grammy Award for Best Rhythm and Blues Song for "Billie Jean," Best Pop Vocal Performance: Male for "Thriller" and Best Rock Male Vocal Performance for "Beat It." Surprisingly, this was the year when Michael Jackson finally announced that he was splitting from The Jacksons during the last concert.
1987 brought the release of his third solo album "Bad" and his first world tour as a solo artist. Michael Jackson signed with Sony Music and released "Dangerous" in 1991. Around this time, Michael Jackson became the center of controversy. The allegations of child molestation began to emerge from a thirteen year old boy who claimed that he was fondled by the star.
Although Michael Jackson settled with the family out of court, the police never found evidence against him at the infamous Neverland Ranch. In 1994, perhaps in an attempt to clear his name, Michael Jackson married Lisa Marie Presley but divorced her in 1996. In 1995, Michael Jackson released his fifth solo, double album entitled "HIStory." While on tour for the album, Michael Jackson entered his second marriage, this time to Debbie Rowe, the nurse he met to treat his skin disorder. Their children Prince Michael Joseph Jackson Jr. was born in 1997, followed by daughter Paris Michael Katherine Jackson in 1998. They divorced in 1999 and Michael Jackson later had a child with another woman whom he called Blanket.
Michael Jackson managed to release a remix album in 1997 entitled "Blood on the Dance Floor." Epic Records released Michael Jackson's tenth and final studio album entitled "Invincible" in October 2001. The years that followed took a toll on Michael Jackson's reputation. Rumors of sleepovers at Neverland Ranch loomed. After he was acquitted of charges in court, the superstar moved to Bahrain in 2005.
After being reclusive for so long, the singer who had supposedly been suffering from various medical conditions, began to practice for his concert tour. July 8, 2009 would have marked his appearance on the O2 Arena in London. In a tragic and sudden death, Michael Jackson was taken from the world after suffering cardiac arrest on June 25, 2009 at the age of 50.
