Neil Nitin Mukesh was born on January 15, 1982. His father is famed musician Nitin Mukesh and his grandfather is the great Mukesh. Since the 12th standard Neil Nitin Mukesh was driven to become an actor. With a B.com degree from HR College, he worked with Kishore Namit Kumar in a workshop for 4 months. Also for the film “Mujshe Dosti Karoge†he assisted Aditya Chopra.
Neil Nitin Mukesh began his acting career at a young age, showing up in films such as “Vijay†in 1988 and “Jaise Karni Waise Bhami†in 1989.
It wasn’t until almost two decades later that he had a major role in a film, the 2007 film “Johnny Gaddar.†Neil Nitin Mukesh played an antagonist and received good reviews from critics. For the role he was even nominated for the Filmfare’s “Best Male Debut Award.†Other nominations for his role in “Johnny Gaddar†include the Star Screen Award for Most Promising New Comer and the Stardust Superstar of Tomorrow. He did receive two awards for his role. Neil Nitin Mukesh won the International Indian Film Academy Award for Fresh Face of the Year as well as the Apsara Film & Television Producers Guild Award for best performance in a negative role.
His latest films include Tera Kya Hoga Johnny, “Aa Dekhen Zara,†“New York†and “Jail.†New York is an upcoming film receiving much media attention. The film places Mukesh in “New York†and showing how the events of September 11, 2001 shape his life. Also coming up is his other film “Jail.†While filming a scene, a co-star had to beat Mukesh, after the beating Neil reported that his ear was buzzing and hoped that there wasn’t any damage. For the role in “Jail,†Mukesh visited a Thane Jail. He spent 5 hours talking to prisoners and observing their daily lives.
