They're back at it again. This ecclectic group of multi-talented musicians known as The Dhol Foundation will be releasing their third album next month. The album titled 'Drums and Roses' was written by founding member Johnny Kalsi who says "This album has been a release of lots of manifested emotions and feelings I have cooped up. A real weight off my shoulders and a well deserved trophy at the end of it all.” Here's one album thats a must have on your iPod because these guys surely do a lot of groundshaking! For those of you who’ve heard of the late Soni Pabla knew that he was a singer with incredible vocal talent. Soni aka Tejpal Singh Pabla was born and raised in Hoshiarpur Punjab before moving to Cananda in the mid 90s. Taught under the guidance of Mahesh Malwani, Soni released his debut album ‘Heeray’ in 2002 and in late 2004 teamed up with Bhangra legend Sukshinder Shinda to create his second album ‘Gal Dil Di’. Pabla is most famously known for his infectious track ‘Boli Pani’ featuring Dj Sanj deemed one of the Bhangra anthems of Summer 2005. It hasn't taken very long for Bhangra to change the face of mainstream music as it has evolved from being simply a 1960s Birmingham import to an internationally recognized art form. Author of the book 'Bhangra,' Dr. Rajinder Dudrah gives a historical account of Bhangra music in Britain and looks at the valuable contribution it's made to the music industry.
