The film begins with the age old conflict of a reformist school versus the shred master duping the villagers of their lands. The village here is Mandwa. When the honest master is brutally killed by Kancha Cheena played by Sanjay Dutt his son played by Hrithik Roshan vows to take revenge at any cost.

Hrithik Roshan has one ally in the film played by Priyanka Chopra who is his lifetime childhood friend and later love interest.
