"99" stars Kunal Khemu, Soha Ali Khan, Boman Irani, Cyrus Broacha, Simone Singh, Mahesh Manjrekar, Amit Mistry and Vinod Khanna. The movie is based on assorted true stories which occurred in 1999 and 2000. It is much about 'What could have been' as it is 'What really happened.' It is about the life stuck at 99 which is just one short of a century.

Sachin (Khemu) and Zaramud (Broacha) are street smart men who are wise in knowing how to steal cars. However, they were unfortunate to steal one car in particular and wind up crashing it. The car belongs to 'AGM' (Manjrekar) who is a small time bookie who runs a cyber cafe as a front for his operations. He takes Sachin and Zaramud on to do his dirty work until they work off the car that they crashed. Unfortunately for them, that would take quite some time.

Rahul (Irani) is just a regular guy from Delhi, with an ordinary job working as a bank manager but with a major habit of gambling, something he is really good at. He never loses on any kind of bet. He places an important bet on 'India-New Zealand one day match in November 1999 and he is not aware that the match was determined even before the first ball was bowled. Rahul loses the bet and ends up owing money to 'AGM' and he has just 3 months to pay up.

How do Sachin, Zaramud and Rahul overcome their problems? The movie is all about how three men go about digging themselves out of their own respective quandaries. "99" is filled with budding romance, car crashes, comedy and conspiracies with colorful characters around. The slogan is "Part Fact, Part Fiction, Part Fun" and "99" sure promises to deliver tons of fun when it opens in theatres this May.
