"Bollywood Hero" is a three-part American television miniseries, which airs on the IFC Channel in the United States from August 6-8.

"Bollywood Hero" stars comedian Chris Kattan in the lead role as a man looking for fame in Bollywood. The miniseries also stars Pooja Kumar, Neha Dhupia, Maya Rudolph, Julian Sands, Ali Fazal and Rachna Shah. Making guest appearances include actors Keanu Reeves, Jennifer Coolidge and David Alan Grier.

The show is a musical miniseries about Chris Kattan and his journey to Mumbai to become a leading man in Bollywood. After having some successful runs as a comedian in America yet not getting a lead role in Hollywood, a Bollywood director named Monty (Ali Afzal) offers Kattan a role in a Bollywood film titled "Peculiar Dancing Boy". Chris Kattan accepts the role and denounces that he's leaving Hollywood and flies to Mumbai.

When he arrives, he meets his co-stars - Bollywood starlet Lalima Lakhani (Neha Dhupia) who will play his love interest, and British veteran actor Reg Hunt (Julian Sands) who will play his father. He also meets the film's producer Priya Kapoor (Pooja Kumar), Monty's older sister, who doesn't see Chris as leading man material.

To make matters worse, Chris' friend Maya Rudolph tells him she discovered Chris' dad, Kip, at his house in L.A. and getting into all kinds of trouble. Meanwhile, Chris is getting into trouble of his own as he attempts to make his way through Mumbai. He soon discovers that making it in Bollywood is just as hard and he has to start from scratch.

Dance numbers are choreographed by Longinus Fernandes who is known for the 'Jai Ho' song sequence in "Slumdog Millionaire". All the costumes were made by Oscar-winning costume designer Riyazali Merchant of Slumdog Millionaire.

Singer-songwriter and composer Michael Penn of "Boogie Nights" wrote and produced three original songs for the series.
