“Dabangg” is a Hindi action film directed by Abhinav Kashyap and produced by Arbaaz Khan. It is the first film of newly launched Arbaaz Khan Productions. The lead actors in the film include Arbaaz’s elder brother, Salman Khan. For his role as a police officer, Salman Khan sports a moustache for the second time in his career.

Salman plays police officer Chulbul Pandey, who is described as "fearless, corrupt, lovable and a bad-ass Robin Hood." The action movie is set in Uttar Pradesh and it depicts the flaws of the system in states like Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Aside from Salman Khan, “Dabangg” stars Arbaaz Khan, newcomer Sonakshi Sinha, Dimple Kapadia, Om Puri and Anupam Kher. Arbaaz admits that it was great having Salman by his side to give him advice on the set: "Salman is a very experienced superstar. This film happens to be his brother's production, which makes it a 'ghar ki baat.' He is the star of the film. I considered every suggestion from Salman to be like words written in gold and we incorporated them accordingly."

Shooting for the film began in September 2009. Most of the scenes were shot in the town of Wai in Maharashtra, while a song and some important portions were shot in United Arab Emirates. Portions of the film were also shot in the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi and the Dubai Metro. S. Vijayan, the stunt director of “Wanted,” choreographed the action sequences of the film. The film wrapped in early June, 2010. And it wouldn’t be a Bollywood hit without great music! The film features ten songs produced by Sajid-Wajid and written by Jalees Sherwani. The track list includes the songs “Munni Badnaam” and “Tere Mast Do Nain.”

Fans will make the verdict on September 10, 2010 when the film is released.
