‘Luck by Chance’ is written and directed by Zoya Akhtar. The comedy/thriller stars Farhan Akhtar, Juhi Chawla, Dimple Kapadia, Rishi Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor, and Anurag Kashyap. ‘Luck by Chance’ takes place in Bombay.

It tells the story of a young woman, Sona played by Konkona Sen Sharma, who moves to the city with the hopes of becoming a successful movie star. She is ambitious and is willing to do whatever it takes to make her dreams a reality.

Sona lives in a rented apartment on her own and has a close knit group of close friends – all who are also entwined with Bollywood and have dreams of their own of bigger things. While in the city, Sona meets and begins a romantic relationship with Vikram, played by Farhan Akhtar.

Vikram has just moved to the city of Bombay from his parents’ home in Delhi. Vikram is young and handsome. He is an ambitious man who knows exactly what he wants and knows exactly how to get it. One day Vikram gets the chance of a lifetime to audience for producer Rolly’s (Rishi Kapoor) new film.

Rolly is an extremely successful producer but he is very superstitious. Rolly only works with the biggest stars. However, there is havoc and chaos on the set of Rolly’s latest film. This is how Vikram lands the audition and he uses the opportunity to his full advantage. ‘Luck by Chance’ revolves around Bollywood, its superstitions, and the young individuals with dreams of making it big in the industry.
