After the success of 'Fashion' and 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi', the musical duo Salim-Sulaiman bring you the soundtrack of Akshay Kumar's supernatural thriller '8x10 Tasveer' and they seem to have brought together three different genres: rap, rock, and soul.
The first song 'Aaja maahi', sung by Neeraj Shridhar and Tulsi Kumar, has mostly western music and English lyrics. Even though the words doesn't grab you, the song is melodious and worth listening to. The remix version doesn't add much, but there's nothing better than the original.
Vishal Dadlani from the music duo Vishal-Shekhar lends his voice in the rock song 'Nazaara hai'. This song gets the heart pumping with its strong musical backup and Vishal's powerful vocals. This number is flooded with the flavor of rock music, especially the dominance of the electric guitar. The remix of 'Nazaara hai' is about average, but nowhere close to the original.
This next song called 'Haafiz khuda' is by far one of the best in this soundtrack. This track brings the genre of soul to life into listeners' ears. This soulful, melodious song brings free-flowing vocals by Mohit Chauhan joined by Tulsi Kumar. This song is clear to make listeners relax and take it in. This song also has a remix version, but the original brings more appeal.
Mohit Chauhan and Tulsi Kumar also lend their voices in the track 'Kuchh is Tarah'. This song is soothing to the ears yet similar to 'Haafiz khuda', bringing this romantic track to become one of the best from Chauhan. The remix version doesn't fail by using suitable musical provisions.
We have heard Akshay Kumar do a rap number with Bohemia in 'Chandni Chowk to China' which has shown that Akshay can do more than just act. This next track brings the actor sharing vocals once again with the Desi hiphop star Bohemia. The song which is called ' I got the picture' is a frisky number with the same feel of the rap song in 'Chandni Chowk to China'. The remix of the same track, which has high beats, is sure to be a hit on the dance floor.
Rating: 3 out of 5
