Album Review: Des-C's 'First Flight'

Des-C just released his debut album "First Flight," but he is no stranger to the music scene! From his Bollywood success with "Move Your Body" for the movie "Johnny Gadaar"  to his collaborations with producer D-Boy, Des-C has shown us that he's got talent and is ready to shake up the music industry. His unique style and hot voice have gotten him recognition and September 11, 2009 is the mark of his solo career.

What We Think:
Des-C, being an Urban Desi artist, has fused different music styles and worked with various producers on this album. "First Flight" has some great dance numbers, easy listens, and emotional songs; there's something for everyone and every mood.

Des-C had released three singles prior to this album, one of which, "Tu Bataja," featured on D-Boy's album as well. We are hit with Bhangra vibes in "Phateh Chak!,""Nachna Onda," "Patte Panjabi" and "Thanedarni (policewoman)." Each song contains dhol beats and an upbeat attitude. "Phateh Chak!" is the first track on the album and it makes us want to dance!

Another fun and urban number is "Ud Chaliye." Des-C's vocals really stand out on this track and the simplistic music compliments his voice well. "Pyaar Hae" and "Kash Kiteh" both add some emotion to this album and Des-C sings each song with such passion that the audience can feel his frustration.

Best Songs

Worst song
Get Rowdy! (Desi Refix)

"First Flight" has 15 tracks which all embody different sounds, stories, and various ways of showcasing Des-C's voice. Choosing a less than perfect song is difficult. The long tune on the album is "Get Rowdy! (Desi Refix)." It is more noise or filler than an actual track. Des-C does have some amazing runs but he seems to be competing with the music and his voice is almost undistinguishable. We miss Des-C's presence on "Get Rowdy! (Desi Refix)" and it is our pick for the worst song.

Final Verdict
If you like Bhangra music, Urban Desi music, or just an amazing vocalist, Des-C's "First Flight" is for you. This is an album you can listen to all the way through and then listen to again. We can expect to hear Des-C's songs in clubs, at parties, and on everyone's iPods. We recommend this album to all!

3.9/5.0 ahahh funny. Who reviews these albums? The music is good, the vocals are absolutely SHIT. You kidding me. What a bakwass album. This guy can't sing worth SHIT. He sounds SHIT. Only one good thing about this album is the Music not the the vocals. Garbage. Ya'll need some serious album reviewers not some ass kissing CHAMCHEY.
