Celeb interest in Desi culture is only growing stronger and Desi Hits! brings you the show to prove it! In "The Equation" series, popular celebrities are offered the opportunity to go Desi. Whether it's through music or fashion, we bring our culture to their doorstep for them to embrace. The desire to discover more about Desi culture has drawn some big names in the American music biz. Next up to get a taste of the Desi lifestyle is 19-year-old up-and-coming pop singer Bayje.
This Universal music artist has great potential with tracks her generation can relate to on her debut album, "Graceland." The young artist is very open about sharing her story with the struggles of being a bi-racial youth in a not so diverse neighborhood and dishes about issues that many teenage girls around the world can relate to.
Whether in India or the U.S., girls will relate to this artist. Bayje is a newcomer and she has got on quick with the rest of the American music industry's interest in all things Desi. Equation host Kiran Shergil met up with this teenager to give her a crash course on Desi culture. So far, international rap star T.I, pop band the Gym Class Heroes and R&B sensation Cassie have all been intrigued by their exposure to Desi culture. Bajye shares the same enthusiasm.
