After having served the public with the very dissapointing, 'Saawariya' it looks like filmmaker Sanjay leela Bhansali is giving B-Town a break. The latest news suggests that the director is heading to Paris to direct a musical there.

He will be directing a musical opera on a grand scale for the Theatre du Chatelet. Bhansali will leave for the city of love early next year and will be there from January to March in 2008. The opera company Theatre du Chatelet has invited Bhansali to direct the opera which is based on the script written by a French writer from 1920s. Very select filmmakers from the world over have been invited by the Theatre du Chatelet which is considered as one of the world's best opera company. Among the filmmakers thus invited are Hong Kong's Yimou Zhang of The House Of Flying Daggers fame and Hollywood's Woody Allen. So from the sound of it looks like Bhansali is in some esteemed company… let's just hope he doesn't serve up another helping of some blue song and dance!
