Bollywood has been on the turban train long before Akshay Kumar unleashed "Singh is Kinng." Check out some of your favorite Bollywood stars as they sport the turban and tell us which ones your favorite.

Akshay Kumar

2008 saw Akshay Kumar finally put on a turban for his role in "Singh is Kinng." The film has Kumar play Happy Singh, from a small village in Punjab. We follow Akshay Kumar as he journeys away from his small village to eventually fall in love with Katrina Kaif's character. While he did sport the turban, he came under criticism for trimming down his beard.

Sunny Deol

The Sylvester Stalone of Bollywood seems to be quite happy wearing the turban. Deol has worn a turban for the blockbuster "Gadar: Ek Prem Katha" where he played a Sikh who falls in love with a muslim girl. Even before that, in 1997, Sunny Deol wore a turban in "Border." For both films he was nominated for best actor by the Filmfare Awards.

Salman Khan

Salman Khan doesn't just wear a turban in his new film "Heroes," he respects it. The bad boy of Bollywood couldn't be found smoking when he had his turban on. When the director asked for the reason, Salman Khan explained that Sikh's find smoking dirty and unsociable. Now that's really getting into character.

Ranbir Kapoor

Later this year you can catch Ranbir Kapoor wear a turban for the film "Rocket Singh." Yash Raj films has a reputation of keeping their films and characters hidden so we have only seen a few pictures of Kapoor sporting the turban. Expect more images of Ranbir Kapoor in "Rocket Singh" in the coming months.

Bobby Deol

Not to be outdone by brother Sunny, Bobby put on a turban for the film "23rd March 1931: Shaheed." Bobby Deol played the role of Indian freedom fighter Bhagat Singh. Even though it was a failure at the box office, it won critical praise for the art direction.

Amitabh Bachchan

In 2007 Amitabh Bachchan sported a turban for the film "Eklavya." The film had Bachchan play a royal Indian guard protecting a fort. While filming, Bachchan had to walk through a herd of camels. One of the camels ended up kicking Amitabh Bachchan in the head, however, the turban he was wearing for the film cushioned the blow and saved his life.

Ajay Devgan

Ajay Devgan donned a turban in "The Legend of Bhagat Singh" and managed to snag a Filmfare award for best actor. Devgan portrayed the legendary freedom fighter Bhagat Singh, much like Bobby Deol did for"23rd March 1931: Shaheed." Coincidently both films were released at the same time.

Hrithik Roshan

For "Jodhaa-Akbar" Hrithik Roshan got into character for the role of Akbar the Great. Being a period piece, Roshan wore a turban. His role earned him a Filmfare for best actor and the film itself won the Filmfare for best film.
