She may only be one film old, but that film just happened to be the biggest hit of 2007!  Deepika Padukone is the newcomer on everyone's lips these days... she's gorgeous, has a great career going for her and a boyfriend she's in love with... Ranbir Kapoor.  But it wasn't always that way...

Deepika was born in Copenhagen, Denmark before her mother and father, famous badminton player, Prakash Padukone, moved to Banglore where she went to school.  Then during college Deepika decided to take up modeling and landed a number of big contracts, such as Maybelline and Kingfisher.  But of course that wasn't enough for Deepika, she wanted to act and thus she starred in her first film opposite the King Khan, Shahrukh, in Om Shanti Om, which became a box office smash.  And there's much more to come from this lady as her films, Bachna Ae Haseeno and Chandni Chowk to China, will release this year.
