Janina Gavankar first hit television sets in The L Word. Now Janina fans are in for a treat as this stunning actress has joined the cast for HBO's raunchy vampire series True Blood. 

Janina will play the role of Luna who is a hot public school teacher. Seems like quite a trend with our Desi ladies as Karen David appeared as a Spanish teacher on BBC's Waterloo Road.

This summer Janina portrayed Leigh Turner who was a vampire on the ABC show The Gates. With the experience as a vampire on The Gates we think Janina is perfectly suited for True Blood. 

"I'm more than excited to be joining such a formidable cats and a show that has such a tremendous following." Janina says in a press release. "I can't wait to share this character with audiences- it's about to get crazier! I just received the first 2 scripts. Get ready for a wild ride."

"I'm marathoning the show right now," Janina tells Desi Hits. "This cast is filled with powerhouses. I'm ready to be challenged."
