M.I.A.’s video for her new single ‘Paper Planes’ is out now, but just because it’s been released doesn’t mean she’s happy about it… in fact she’s down right pissed! She recently put up a blog on her site where she wrote, “A FEW PEOPLE TALKING S*!% DONT MATTER TO ME, BUT TWISTING TRUTH ISNT THE LESSON I WANNA LEARN IN MY TIME IN MUSIC, SO WHO EVER THAT IS DOING IT, I WANNA SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT.”

She goes on to say that the original video was supposed to be shot in Ecuador but since she was touring in NYC she had to film it in Brooklyn. She rants on about how she was censored on a popular late night US TV show and how the video had been sabotaged. The girl just can’t seem to get a break, from being banned from the US to being censored. Whatever happened to freedom of speech? Guess some people just can’t handle the message that M.I.A. is bringing in her music… such a shame isn’t it?

So to all her fans M.I.A. had this to say: “IN 2007, AN OUTSIDER OPINION WILL BE CONFRONTED THIS WAY , AND THIS IS HOW THE BATTLE GOES, MY MESSAGES AND IDEAS AND MEANING WILL ALWAYS BE BROUGHT TO YOU WITH SLIGHTLY TAINTED CHANNELS. IF YOU SUPPORT ME BE SMART, AND KNOW THAT. I LOVE YOU, U KEEP ME GOING.”

But it's not all bad news for M.I.A. Her album 'Kala' was recently voted album of the year by a major mainstream magazine. Now we all know she incorporates a lot of Desi beats in her music... like the 1982 track from B-Town flick 'Jimmy.' So if you had any doubt of Desi going mainstream, here's even more proof for you!
