The Story:
Aarav, played by Akshay Kumar, runs a fishing company in the Bahamas, in which Sethji, played by Sanjay Dutt is a diver. While Aarav is quite successful, Sethji is having some financial problems. To help him, Aarav suggests to Sethji that he tries to retrieve a lost treasure of a sunken ship guarded by sharks. An action-filled thriller ensues.

What Worked:
With a $28 budget, "Blue" had huge expectations! And the movie delivered! While the story was quite simple, the images of the underwater world and the cool stunts by Akshay Kumar make this Diwali release a fresh action-filled thriller.

What Didn't:
Lara Dutta overcame her fear of swimming for this role so it’s a shame that she didn’t play a bigger part. She looked stunning.

The Soundtrack:
A. R. Rahman composed the music for the film and Mayur Puri Abbas Tyrewala Rajat Arora and Sukhwinder Singh wrote the lyrics. Aussie star Kylie Minogue and Sonu Niigaam made a special promo video for the soundtrack called “Chiggy Wiggy.” "Blue" is not a path-breaking soundtrack, but it is thoroughly enjoyable and beautifully orchestrated. A.R. Rahman's experiment with different sounds definitely gives it a good vibe.

Slated or Rated:
Action fans will not be disappointed by this Diwali release! "Blue" is a fresh fast film in a sea of romantic comedies and while most of the money was spent on the stunt scenes instead of a solid story script, this movie is worth seeing, if not for its beautiful underwater shots.
