What Worked?
'Heroes' is the story of two guys who travel a thousand miles on a journey that reveals to them a new meaning of life..... The movie stars a host of actors including Salman Khan, Preity Zinta, Sohail Khan, Vatsal Seth, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Mithun Chakraborty and Dino Morea
With such a huge star cast, you may think, where will the story fit in?
That's where you are wrong, this film is refreshing from the word go....it has all the qualities of a super hit film. It gives a positive outlook to viewers about men serving in the army and the viewer is captured in with this emotional yet entertaining film.
The actors that have been selected to play the relevant characters are an excellent choice, and have given great performances, whether it is Preity as a traditional Punjabi housewife straight down to Dino who plays a high ranking member of the army.
The story and screenplay is brilliant and the audience travels with the two characters on their journey.
Newcomer Vatsal Sheth has blended in perfectly in the film and does not come across as one film old, while Sohail Khan has given one of his best performances yet.
What Didn't?
This film is immensely impressive so finding something that did not work really is difficult.
But as no film is perfect, it would have been nice to see Salman Khan a little more as in the promo's of the film he is shown to be the main lead. Not saying the others did not do a good job, but I guess it must have been the demand of the film, see I told you guys its tough!
Apart from that it would have been great seeing a female lead as a member of the Army amongst all the male army members.
Music:
The songs by Monty Sharma and Sajid-Wajid are situational based and therefore are placed in position accurately, whether it is 'Badmash Launde' or 'Mannanta', every song is placed in the right situation and adds to the overall story.
The Verdict:
4 out of 5
A must see film that surprisingly gives a different message to the youth of today.'You don't have to be a soldier to love your country.'
Great story, great performances and overall a great catch!!!
Check 'Heroes' at your local cinema's and find the Hero in you.....
