You can now add Julia Roberts to the host of celebrities who have visited one of the Seven Wonders of the World we know as the Taj Mahal. The “Pretty Woman” actress and her husband Daniel Moder took in the scenery amongst the thousands of spectators who flock to this hallowed Indian monument. Notable celebrities who have visited the Taj Mahal are actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, former U.S. President Bill Clinton, pop singer Britney Spears, and the late Princess Diana. There’s just something about the Taj Mahal that brings such peacefulness to the lives of celebrities looking to get away for a little bit.

So what draws these well known figures to the monument in Agra? Some think it is the marble dome that is the highlight of the building. Others would say it is the history of the building, which was built in 1653 by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his favorite wife, Mumtaz.
