Lil Wayne’s sentencing has been delayed quite a few times over the last few months, including due to a fire in the court house, but yesterday the worldwide famous rapper was sentenced to a year in prison for gun possession.

And while fans may miss the man himself, Lil Wayne is going in prepared! He has already released a few new tracks and videos to keep people entertained while he’s away. But that doesn’t mean that his friends won’t miss him.

"I think we gonna miss a certain energy that Wayne has. The beauty about it is, he'll be back and hopefully he'll come back a better person. Whenever we get in trouble, we're in the public spotlight. So hopefully there's a lot of kids out there who could learn from any mistakes that we may have put ourselves in, even if we're not guilty of the crime sometimes. We are human," P Diddy told MTV.com.

Lil Wayne’s Cash Money Records friends, Birdman and Slim, were present in the courtroom, reports MTV.com, and we’re sure they can’t wait to see their fellow rapper out soon! Lil Wayne is expected to be released in October.
