Shilpa Shetty got married to Raj Kundra, Eisha Kopikkar to Timmy Narang, Ayesha Takia to Farhan Azmi and Amrita Arora to Shakeel Ladak. The funeral appeared to be of Bollywood cinema as a whole suffering a major set back  first with the recession, then the multiplex/distributors strike and finally a series of flop films. But regardless of whether things are good bad or ugly in Bollywood, people always have the time (and inclination) to doll up and rock out!

First up I'm excited to check out DJ Aqeel's new nightclub called Hype which just opened in Worli, Mumbai. Considering he's part of an extended filmy family we can expect to see a lot of star power hitting up that dance floor in 2010! In fact last night there was an opening party hosted by Renu Chainani, Ashish Raheja and Tarini Jindal (but Farah Ali Khan Twittered that her and Aqeel hadn't invited their friends yet and planned to do so on Saturday for her birthday party.) Sounds like a good time!

Psst! Desi Hits editor-in-chief did her own celebrity spotting today while on vacation in India, turns out Sushmita Sen and Fardeen Khan are staying on her floor at the Oberoi in Kolkotta!

Didjya hear? After making headlines for choosing to adopt her daughter Renee ten years ago, Sushmita Sen has done it again and brought home three-month-old Alicia. Sushmita confirms that the, “Last three years of my life wer not so nice. But now things have turned around. When the high court issued a new order and allowed me to adopt another girl child, I did it. Just three months ago, when Alicia was born, I had applied for her adoption. I am extremely happy to have her now."

And I have to say, this was quite a shocker to me considering I've been scoffing at all the romantic rumors about Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif. Turns out its true! I guess they really hit it off on the sets of "Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani" and are as close as ever working on their next film together, Prakash Jha’s "Rajneeti." When Katrina was sick Raanbir did all the "boyfriend" things to cheer her up. I'm told her and Deepika Padukone broke up because mommy Neetu Singh didn't approve. Oddly enough Neetu seems fairly fond of Katrina... and in case you were wondering no she's not older than him, he's in fact two years older than her :)

After a star-studded premiere for "3 Idiots" (where Aamir Khan was uncharacteristically dressed in a hand-made fabric suit by Sabyasachi Mukherjee) the buzz is that the inimitable Khan has done it again by making the movie the first Bollywood film ever to be made available for legal download 12 weeks after its release! Score.

I guess not everyone forgives and forgets in Bollywood eh? Of late choreographer-turned-director Farah Khan has not made it to Gauri & Shahrukh Khan's VVIP guest list for any of their holiday parties. Last week at Mannat Gauri threw an intimate soiree where (under normal circumstances) Farah would most definitely have been invited, but although her brother Sajid is still making the cut looks the Khan clan's clear message to Farah is "goodbye sister!"
