It's been released but will it live up to expectations? This is the question on everyone's mind regarding Shahrukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra's Don 2 especially because the film is being released a week after the biggest action flick of the year Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol! The Story:

Don 2 The Chase Continues is an action film that is directed by Farhan Akhar. This film is the sequel to the 2006 Don entitled Don the Chase Begins which itself is a remake from the 1976 Don film. The bosses of the European drug cartel meet in the French Riviera to discuss a new threat emerging from Asia. Don is jeopardizing their business because he is able to sell drugs at a much lower price. The bosses send word out that Don must die. Don has been living in Thailand for the past five years and goes to a remote settlement to pick up a shipment of drugs. Instead of a normal transaction, Don has to fight his way out because the more powerful European bosses want him dead. He then goes back to Malaysia where he surrenders to Roma and Inspector Malik. Don is sentenced to death and sent to a Malaysian prison where he meets Vardhaan. And from there suspsense, and action ensue!

What Worked:

The chemistry between Shahrukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra on the big screen is undeniable and neither is the amazing cinematography by Jason West. The music by Shankhar-Ehsaan-Loy struck a chord with the audience with their composition of the background music. In addition to all this, the good versus evil battle in the film is of course fun to watch and keeps the audience somewhat entertained through the flick.

What Didn't:

In comparison to the first Don flick with Shahrukh Khan, Don 2 didn't deliver 'edge of the seat moments' that an action film is meant to deliver. Shahrukh Khan's charm shined through his character which would have been fine except the character he plays is meant to be more cruel than sweet!

Slated or Rated:

For a feel good action movie Don 2 will be a fun one to watch with the family this holiday season and of course Shahrukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra rarely disappoint. However, if you are expecting a lot from this Don 2 film and comparing to the first then perhaps this isn't the flick for you and you are better off watching off Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol.
