What do you get when you take a British Bangladeshi who does Bashment, Soul and R&B? One electrifying act - Mumzy. And having Rishi Rich as his mentor, Mumzy's been co-signed by one of the most prolific producers in the game today.

His teaser track "Stranger" has already been getting rave reviews in the UK. "Let's Party," the first single off his album, is a groovy up tempo track which features Mumzy not only emceeing on the track but also giving audiences a taste of his unique incorporation of Bashment and Soul.
You've got to admit that there is definitely no one else with a sound quite like Mumzy! He proudly admits to being the first Bengali to fuse Bashment, English and soul all with a Bengali twist. Being the first British Bangladeshi artist to raise eyebrows in the industry he feels a sort of responsibility to others. "There must have been thousands of Bengali singers out there but maybe they never made it because they never had anyone out there to look up to." So we asked Mumzy, who do you look up to and he responded to Craig David because he was the first British R&B singer to break the market. Another source of inspiration for Mumzy is soul singer Joe, whom he says is his favorite artist.
Mumzy has been featured on several artists' albums' and has been in the studio doing various collaborations. He's done a track with H-Dhami, and is collaborating with British singer Sophie Choudry. He's also lending his vocals to Malkit Singh and Jassi Sidhu for Jassi's upcoming album. Part of Rishi's master plan is to intentionally feature him on several different artist records so they get a feel of his capacity as an artist. Rather than produce an album simply for the commercial market Mumzy's wants to prove his versatility. He wants this album to be a reflection of his life and his motto,"born a stranger, live a stranger and die a stranger."
What is most striking about Mumzy is not his versatility as a singer nor his unique sound but his humility. We all know that fame is a bi-product of being a successful male Rnb singer and anticipating this Mumzy is confident however not to let fame affect his life. "Never let yourself out too much to someone, be humble and peaceful as an artist or whatever you want to be," says Mumzy. He feels that it is important to stay level- headed and grounded as an artist never letting fame get to your head because in this business who knows... you may or may not make it. So be on the look as Mumzy gets ready to mash up the dance floor!
