Stars Help Haiti

On Tuesday, January 12, the nation of Haiti was devastated by an earthquake that struck its capital Port-Au-Prince. The earthquake had a magnitude of 7.0 and left the city in ruins.

Many are still looking for survivors only to realize that it may be too late. As the death toll rises, the living conditions for the survivors are deteriorating. Water is scarce and aid is coming, just not quick enough.

The South Asian community is lending a hand as everyone prays for the nation. India's Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has promised Haiti $5 million and India was one of the first countries to speak up and help Haiti.

And the stars are no exception. From up-and-coming pop songtress Esmee and urban Desi artist Bobby Moon, to established R&B singer Wyclef Jean and B-town big shot Abhishek Bachchan, people in show biz are getting more and more involved in this important cause.

For Justin Timberlake's Dutch discovery, Esmee, you never know what can happen so it's important to lend a hand.

"So upset about what happend in Haiti it really makes me realize tomorrow is never promised. So we should all make today count !" she tweeted today.

Haitian-born Wyclef Jean has been organizing help for his country from the very first day and he had this to say on Twitter:

"Thank you to all of the people around the world that are helping and praying for the people of Haiti, keep us in your prayers."

Urban Desi artist Bobby Moon is also doing what he can by donating all profits from his latest single to the poor nation:

"'Swagger' out on iTunes. Bobby Moon and the On THE MARK Family will donate all profits starting today [January 14] for this single to HAITI and earthquake victims."

Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan also fully supports the cause the tweets his prayers to the earthquake struck country:

"Full power, love and support to all the people of haiti and my friend wyclef! God be with you all!"
