It’s safe to say ‘Desi Rock’ group Swami, which stands for ‘So Who AM I,’ is unlike anything you’ve ever heard before. Their eclectic mix of rock and Desi sounds can be heard in their massive hit album ‘Equalize’ which is out now on the Desi Hits! iTunes store!

And now the album is set to drop in India on major mainstream label, EMI on December 15th ! How huge is that?! Swami’s lead singer S-Endz tells us they’ve signed an exclusive licensing deal with EMI to release ‘Equalize’ as well as their next album. This time around the ‘Equalize’ album is getting a revamp as it features some hot new bonus versions of a few of the original tracks.
This version of ‘Equalize’ features bangin new mixes like a new version of ‘Electro Jugni’ featuring Swedish-Latina singer DeDe Lopez, which has more of a commercial pop vibe. S-Endz tells us ‘Electro Jugni’ will be the next single and we can expect a hot new video to it as well. The album also features a smokin’ Tigerstyle Bhangra version of ‘Hey Hey’. Then there’s the grimmy, club ‘Demixify Mix’ of ‘Break’ and a beautiful unplugged version of ‘Can’t Let Go,’ which you can also cop for free from the Free Downloads section.
In the past Swami released their album, ‘So Who Am I?’ in India in 2005, through which they were able to learn a lot about the Indian market. They’ve even been featured on a B-Town soundtrack, doing a remix of a track for the flick ‘Corporate,’ which no doubt made a big impression in India.
For those of you who just can’t get enough of Swami (we don’t blame you, we can’t either!) you can catch them live as they plan to hit up the UK, India, Australia and Germany in the New Year! It’s plain to see the ‘Desi Rock’ revolution is taking over… don’t you want to be part of the ride?
